과학탐구교육 연구 동향 파악을 위한 R 패키지 활용 상세서지 빅데이터 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 과학탐구교육에 대한 국제 연구 동향을 파악함으로써 주요 연구 주제와 유형, 변화 과정을 살펴봄으로써 국내 과학교육에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 Web of Science를 통해 추출된 1915건의 관련 연구의 상세서지정보를 R-Studio를 통해 분석하였다. 데이터 분석에는 R 기반 라이브러리인 Bibliomerix와 Biblioshiny앱을 활용하였으며, 구체적으로 출처, 저자, 문헌, 키워드, 네트워크 분석을 실시했다. 연구 결과, 과학탐구교육에 대한 관심은 1992년부터 시작되었고 2000년대 중반 이후 급격히 증가하였음을 알 수 있었다. 주요 연구 그룹으로는 미국, 호주, 영국, 중국, 대만 등으로 나타났지만 가장 영향력 있는 연구는 주로 미국의 연구자들에 의해 수행된 것으로 나타났다. 공동 인용 네트워크 분석 결과 과학탐구교육 분야에서는 크게 의사소통 및 논증 계열, 탐구 및 과학의 본성 계열의 참고 문헌이 많이 인용되는 것을 알 수 있었고, 키워드 분석 결과는 지속적으로 학생의 학습과 관련된 연구가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 교사교육이나 실험실에서의 탐구과정과 이해에 관한 교육은 상대적으로 관심이 적은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 동향 및 주요 흐름을 바탕으로 과학탐구교육 연구를 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed at investigating a review of studies on scientific inquiry in international journals in order to provide pedagogical implications for scientific inquiry. Thus, the researchers extracted 1915 articles indexed in SSCI(Social Science Citation Index) from the Web of Science and ran bibliometric analysis using R-Studio. The results showed that scientific inquiry has been heeded since 1992 and became much interested since the mid of 2000’s. The majorities of studies came from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, China and Taiwan whereas highly cited papers were produced only in the United States. According to the co-citation network, there were two main streams in the study: communication and argumentation, and the nature of science and scientific inquiry. Keyword analysis showed that studies on student learning have been continuously increasing, while professional development and laboratory practices remain less concerned. Based on the results, this study gave some implications for educating and investigating scientific inquiry in the classroom.
