국문 초록

본 연구는 IB(International Baccalaureate) 교육과정 MYP(Middle Years Programme)의 핵심 개념의 의미와 성격을 분석하여 한국 교육과정에 주는 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 MYP의 총론에 해당하는 ‘MYP의 원리와 실제(MYP: From principles into practice)’와 MYP의 8개 교과 해설서들을 집중적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, IB의 핵심 개념은 ‘교과와 과목을 가로지르는 광범위하고 구조화된 강력한 아이디어’로써, 범교과적인 성격을 지니고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 핵심 개념은 교과를 심층적으로 이해하고 지식의 전이를 가능하게 하며, 통합학습의 원리로써 작용하는 것으로 드러났다. 마지막으로 이러한 MYP의 교육과정 문서 분석 결과를 토대로 IB의 핵심 개념이 2015 개정 교육과정에 주는 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze IB(International Baccarlaureate) MYP(Middle Years Programme) curriculum frameworks in terms of key concepts and found its implication on the framework of revision of 2015 Korean National Curriculum. To achieve these goals, IB publications which provide a guide to teaching and learning of the MYP has been reviewed. IB key concepts lead students towards deeper understanding of the subject group, integration with multiple disciplines appreciation of ideas that transfer and apply ideas and skills to new situations constructing meaning as they become able to create personal relevance and transfer knowledge and take responsibility for their own learning. The importance of principles and practices for achieving educational goals is highlighted. Thus the findings from this research have implications for the frameworks of 2015 revised national curriculum.
