국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미국 대규모 학업평가에서의 접근성 지원 현황을 살펴보고 일반 학업평가에 참여하는 우리나라 장애학생을 위한 접근성 지원에 대한 시사점을 모색하는 것이었다. 다양한 문헌을 통하여 미국 학업평가에서의 장애학생을 위한 접근성 지원의 발전 배경, 현재 미국에서 적용하고 있는 접근성 지원 유형, 그리고 학교현장에서 접근성 지원을 제공하기 위한 의사결정 과정을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 우리나라 장애학생을 위한 접근성 지원 유형과 방법을 확대해야 한다. 둘째, 접근성 지원 대상의 범위를 확대하고 지원 수준을 다양화해야 하며 관련법을 정비해야 한다. 셋째, 접근성 지원을 위한 의사결정 과정과 적용방법을 구체화해야 한다. 이러한 연구 결과와 시사점을 토대로 지속적인 접근성 지원과 관련한 심층적인 연구 수행, 구체적이고 명확한 매뉴얼 및 지침 마련, 접근성 지원에 대한 이해를 높이기 위한 교사교육의 필요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the current status of accessibility supports in large-scale assessments in the United States to explore implications for students with disabilities who are studying the general education curriculum in Korea. Through reviewing a variety of literature, the background of accessibility supports in the assessment of students with disabilities, the types of accessibility supports currently applied in the US, and the decision-making process of providing accessibility supports in schools are examined. Given these US cases, the following implications were drawn. First, the types and methods of accessibility supports for students with disabilities in Korea should be varied. Second, the range of students receiving accessibility supports should be expanded, the level of supports should be diversified, and the related laws should be revised. Third, the decision-making process and application method for accessibility supports should be specified. Based on these findings and implications, this study suggested the need to continue in-depth research on accessibility supports, to provide specific and clear manuals and guidelines, and to educate teachers for better understanding on accessibility supports.
