영문 초록

This study started with the motive to revive island economy by promoting tourism, and aims to suggest actionable policy alternatives based on clear and detailed status analysis. Direct survey and a broad range of data collection about geological, socioeconomic and tourism characteristics to overcome the absence of statistical data of individual inhabited island. Finally, six types of island are derived by cluster analysis of the collected data and two main suggestions are proposed as counterplan for economic revival of island : first, to introduce operation of a passenger ship between island to island directly with appropriate financial support and second, to develop island trekking routes around islands in Gyeongsangnam-do province as world famous attraction site for trekking travellers.
