영문 초록

To reduce the almost manual labor of creating a wiring diagram of a ship engine, a method of automatically generating it is proposed. The proposed method consists of two steps: First, databases for information including engine hierarchy are searched and a symbol library for various kinds of instruments in the wiring diagram is constructed. Then the wiring diagram is developed in a specific format according to the decision rules of the database and symbol library. The method is implemented on the commercial computer-assisted design/computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system, Unigraphics with application program interface (API) routines. Furthermore, it was found that the diagram generation time was shortened by applying the system to different works.
