국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 교과 교육과정이 역량기반의 접근을 취한다고 할 때, 교과 교육과정 문서 체제를 설계하는 대안적 방식을 사회(지리 영역) 교육과정을 중심으로 찾는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 우리나라의 역량기반 사회과 교육과정 문서 체제의 현황과 문제점을 확인하고, 이후 우리나라보다 먼저 역량적 접근을 시도해온 싱가포르와 호주 지리과 교육과정의 문서 체제에 대한 분석을 통해 우리나라 역량기반 교과 교육과정 문서 체제의 대안적 방향을 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구는 우리나라의 역량기반 사회과 교육과정은 지향하고 있는 역량을 단순히 나열하는 항목이 아니라, 그것에 대한 충분한 설명과 이해가 이루어질 수 있는 항목을 도입할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 또한, 역량의 성취를 가능하게 할 수 있는 교육내용의 제시및 그러한 교육내용 사이의 연계성을 나타낼 수 있는 항목, 실질적인 교수·학습 속에서 역량이 성취되는 과정에 영향을 주는 항목을 마련할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find alternative ways of designing the document system for subject curriculum in order to achieve competency, and to focus on Social studies(geography domain) curriculum. To this end, this study identified the current status and problems of Korea s competency-based Social studies curriculum document system, and explored alternative directions of the competency-based curriculum document system by analyzing the document systems of Singapore and Australia geography curriculum that presents the competency-based approach. As a result, this study suggested that Korea s competency-based Social studies curriculum need to introduce an item that can be fully explained and understood, rather than simply listing he competencies it is aiming for. It also proposed that an item should be prepared that would present educational contents that could enable achievement of competency, but that items that could emphasize the link between such educational content, and items that affect the process in which competency is achieved in practical teaching and learning.
