어린이들의 교실 밖 생활정치 현상의 의미: ‘박스집 만들기’ 실천사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 어린이들의 학교 내 생활세계에서 실천사례인 박스집 만들기를 관찰하고 이를 생활정치의 관점으로 이해하여 사회과 정치교육적 의미를 탐색하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 경기도 ○○시 ○○초등학교에 재학 중인 5학년 학생 28명의 박스집 만들기 현장을 비참여 관찰하고, 필드노트, 박스집 만들기 일기, 면담등을 활용하여 2019년 3월부터 2019년 7월까지 자료를 수집하고, 이를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어린이들은 박스집 만들기를 통해 도구적, 특권적인 권력 관계를 생성하고 이를 유지하기 위해 노력한다. 그리고 어린이들은 무분별한 권력 행위를 견제하기 위해 방어적으로 투표권과 거부권을 행사한다. 둘째, 어린이 들은 박스집 만들기에서 발생한 문제를 민주적인 방법으로 해결하기 위해 다수결,대의제, 합의제를 경험한다. 셋째, 어린이들은 자신들의 필요와 요구를 실현하기 위해 사물과 관계 맺음을 시작하고, 발생한 문제를 해결하기 위해 자발적으로 인격적 상호작용의 관계 맺음으로 전환한다. 본 연구는 어린이들이 일상적인 필요와 요구에서부터 시작하여 자신과 주변에서의 공적인 일에 관심을 갖고 적극적인 참여를 통해 문제를 민주적으로 해결하는 과정을 경험함으로써 스스로 정치의 주체가 될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to observe the ‘building a box-house’, a practice case ofchildren s lived-worlds in school, and to explore political educational in social studies meaning by understanding them in viewpoint of life politics. To this end, this research collected data from march 2019 to july 2019 and analyzed the ‘building a box-house’ of 28 fifth-grade students attending ○○ elementary school in ○○-si, gyeonggi-do, using field-notes, ‘building a box-house’ journals and interviews. The results of the study are as follows. First, children try to create and maintain tool and privileged power relationships through ‘building a box-house’. And power is regulated by other children s defensive voting rights and vetoes. Second, children try to solve the problem of ‘building a box-house’ in a democratic way. And in the process, they experience a majority, a representative system and a consensual system. Third, children begin to relate to things in order to realize their needs and needs. And children voluntarily switch to a relationship of personal interaction to solve problems that have arisen. This study identified children s interest in public work around them, starting with day-to-day needs and needs. And this study confirmed that children can become the subject of politics themselves by experiencing the process of solving problems democratically through active participation.
