교육대학원 체육전공생들의 진로목표와 진로목표 변화에 대한 의미 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육대학원에 진학 한 체육전공생들의 진로목표 인식에 대한 현황을 파악하고 교육대학원에서의 어떤 경험을 통해 체육교사로서의 진로목표로 전향하게 되었는지에 대해 알아봄으로써 진로에 갈등을 겪고 있는 체육전공 학생들에게 교육 대학원에서의 경험들이 어떤 의미를 갖는지 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교육대학원 학생 30명을 대상으로 구조화된 질문지를 사용하여 교육대학원 진학 전, 후 자신의 진로목표가 무엇인지에 대한 현황을 파악하였으며, 이 단계에서 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 교육대학원 진학 전과는 달리 진학 후에 진로목표가 체육교사로 변화된 학생 5명을 대상으로 반 구조화된 질문지를 사용하여 진로목표가 변화된 이유에 대해 심층적으로 살펴보았다. 이에 따른 연구결과로는 교육대학원에 진학 한 체육전공 학 생들 중 여전히 높은 비율의 학생들이 체육교사가 아닌 다른 진로목표를 갖고 교육대학원에 진학하였음이 드러났으며, 체육교사이외의 체육전공생들의 진로목표 순위로는 실업팀 선수 또는 지도자, 전공스포츠 관련 사업(도장 등) 운영, 대학교수 순으 로 나타났다. 하지만 교육대학원 진학 전과 후의 체육교사를 희망하는 체육전공 학생의 변화비율을 통해 교육대학원에서의 다양한 경험이 체육전공 학생들로 하여금 체육교사로서의 진로목표로 전향하는데 있어 긍정적인 영향을 끼치고 있음이 밝혀 졌다. 더하여, 교육대학원 진학 후 체육교사로 진로목표를 전향하게 된 이유에 대해서는 전공연계가능성 확인, 체육교사 역할에 대한 인식 변화, 체육교사로서의 전문성 함양의 3가지로 의미 주제화할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 교육대학원에서 제공되는 다양한 경험들이 체육교사로서의 진로목표를 선택하는데 있어 긍정과 열정의 요인으로 작용하는 것으로 해석할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of career goal recognition of physical education students entering the Graduate School of Education, and to find out what experiences they have made in becoming a physical education teacher. We wanted to understand what the experiences of the graduate school of education meant for students. For this purpose, the structured questionnaire was used for 30 students of the Graduate School of Education to find out what their career goals were before and after entering the Graduate School of Education. The semi-structured questionnaire was used to examine why the career goals were changed. As a result of this study, it was found that a high percentage of the students who majored in the graduate school of education entered the Graduate School of Education with a different goal than the physical education teacher. The rate of change of major students showed that various experiences at the Graduate School of Education had a positive effect on the transition of physical education students to career goals as physical education teachers. The reasons for turning career goals into physical education teachers could be categorized into three areas: checking the possibility of major connection, changing the perception of the role of physical education teachers, and fostering professionalism as physical education teachers. In conclusion, various experiences provided by the Graduate School of Education could be interpreted as a factor of positive and enthusiasm in selecting career goals as physical education teachers.
