소규모학교의 과학체험활동 운영 방법에 관한 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학생수 감소에 따른 소규모학교의 교육적 위기와 기회라는 시대적 상황에서 소규모학교의 특성을 반영해 운영하고 있는 과학체험활동에 대한 시사점을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2017학년 3월부터 11월까지 A교를 중심으로 3개 학교 가 운영한 공동교육과정의 사례와 과학관련 체험활동 2개, A교에서 가족과 연계한 텃밭 교육활동과 별자리관측 프로그램, 동아리 형태의 생태STEAM 프로그램의 계획서, 활동사진, 만족도 설문을 수집․분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 인적물적 자원의 교 류로 학습자의 교육적 선택의 폭이 확대되었다. 둘째, 교사들의 행정적 준비가 수월해졌다. 셋째, 또래 학생들의 사회성 발달과 반성적 태도를 기대할 수 있었다. 한편 학생의 이동방법을 고민해야 하며, 이동수단의 확보가 필요하다. 또한 교사, 학생, 학부모의 만족도는 높게 나타났지만 정책적인 부분에서 지역사회의 반감도 존재하였다. 가족과 함께 체험하는 프로그램은 체험활동의 지속성과 학생의 안전을 도모, 가정교육과 연계를 통하여 긍정적인 만족도를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 과학 체 험활동은 학생들에게 다양한 경험의 기회를 제공해 주도록 환경을 조성해 주어야 한다. 학생의 활동 선택의 폭을 확대하고, 가족과 함께하는 과제형 체험활동을 개발함으로써 지속적인 탐구활동으로 연결될 수 있다는 점을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This study collected examples of scientific experience activities and sought to find out the implications of the operation of scientific experience activities that reflect the characteristics of small schools in the period of educational crisis and opportunity due to the reduction of school age population and low birth rate. The three small schools from March to November 2017 operated a joint-curriculum, two scientific experience activities in the joint-curriculum, A school operated the farming experience activities and constellation observation programs linked to the family, and ecological STEAM programs in the form of a club. So a plan, photo of activities, and survey questions were collected and analyzed. The results of the study on the scientific experience activities of the joint-curriculum are as follows: First, the exchange of human and physical resources has expanded the scope of learners educational choices. Second, the teachers administrative arrangements became easy. Third, we could expect social development and a self-reflection attitude in the process of meeting students of age. On the other hand, they need to think about how to move students and secure their means of transportation. Teachers, students and parents showed high satisfaction, but there was an atmosphere of antipathy in policy. In the small school farming and constellation observation activities, students were able to organize their programs with families, while ensuring the continuity of experience activities, to ensure the safety of students, and to have positive satisfaction with personality development in connection with home education. Based on these results, the scientific experience activities should create a conditions that gives students various opportunities of experience. When choices are broadened, it is possible to perform activities according to the individual interests, and abilities of students. In addition, the teachers confirmed that they could be connected to continuous inquiry activities by escaping one-time experiential activities by developing task-based experiential activities with parents as well as scientific experience activities with students.
