수학사를 활용한 협력적 문제해결과정에서 나타난 담화 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 공동의 문제를 인식하고 협업을 통해 해결할 수 있는 협력적 문제해결역량이 강조되고 있는 현시점에서 이 역량이 학교에서 교육 가능함을 제안하고자 고등학생들이 수학사를 활용한 문제를 협력적으로 해결하는 과정에서 나타내는 담화 의 특징을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 중등 수학 교과서에 등장하는 수학자를 중심으로 그들의 일화나 저서, 혹은 그 수학자들의 영향을 받아 발생하게 된 수학사적 문제들을 네 곳의 일반계 고등학생들에게 제공하여 모둠별로 해결하도록 하였다. 학생들이 나타내는 전반적인 담화의 특징과 구체적 담화의 내용을 중심으로 분석한 결과, 학생들은 문제해결을 위해 요구되는 인지적 측면의 담화, 사회적 상호작용 측면의 담화, 메타인지적 측면의 순서대로 담화가 많이 나타났다. 특히 사회적 상호작용 측면의 담화에서 격려, 동기부여와 같은 긍정적 담화도 존재하였으나 문제해결에서 장애를 겪는 상황에서 비난이나 무시와 같은 반사회적인 부정적 담화도 나타났다. 이러한 담화의 특징을 통해 미래사회의 구성원으로서 주도적 역할을 하게 될 학생들의 협력적 문제해결역량 함양을 위한 방안에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the discourse characteristics of high school students in cooperative problem solving process using mathematics history. For this purpose, the mathematicians appearing in secondary mathematics textbooks were provided to four general high school students. Based on the characteristics of the general discourse and the content of the specific discourses, the students were that the discourses in the order of cognitive discourses, social interaction discourses, and meta-cognitive discourses were required in order for problem solving. In particular, there were positive discourses such as encouragement and motivation in the discourse of social interaction, but anti-social negative discourses such as blame and disregard were also found in the case of obstacles in problem solving. Through these characteristics of the discourse, we will discuss ways to improve students cooperative problem-solving skills, which will play a leading role as members of the future society.
