영문 초록

This thesis was intended to analyze technical background and prospects of UHD TV(Ultra High Definition Television) industry. UHD TV(Ultra High Definition Television) was appeared through the development of digital television to satisfy the needs of users. For creating more profit in digital television industry, it was come from the limitation of developing enlargement and gentrification of digital television and also it has a limitation of digital broadcasting services because it was basically same base of digital techniques but only few different additional options, even though it was appeared to IPTV, 3DTV and Smart TV service. Finally the only the way of creation new market demand in the digital television industry is the enlargement of panel and the image quality enhancement of television. Therefore it is necessary to have active participation and continuous investment for the standardization competition of digital television technologies. HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding) may be one of the leading video coding technology for International Standard of 4K UHD TV. Ultimately, it is necessary to approach to the direction of maximization market share by solving user’s needs of 4K UHD TV as developing high efficiency video coding.
