유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니의 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스가 양육행동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니의 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스와 양육행동의 관계가 어떠한지, 어머니의 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스가 어머니의 양육행동에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 파악하여, 어머니의 양육행동을 긍정적으로 증진할 수 있는 요인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 서울시와 경기도에 소재한 어린이집과 유치원에 재원하는 3∼5세 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니 114명을 대상으로 실시되었다. 어머니의 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스, 양육행 동에 대한 평정은 어머니 보고로 실시되었다. 자료 분석을 위해 내적 합치도, 각 변인에 대한 기술적 통계치, Pearson의 적률상관계수, 중다회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니의 자아존중 감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스 각각은 어머니의 양육행동과 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 양육스트레스가 어머니의 양육행동에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 어머니의 애정적 양육행동에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변 인은 어머니의 긍정적 정서표현성, 어머니의 자아존중감, 부정적 정서표현성 순으로 나타났다. 어머니의 거부적 양육행동에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변인은 어머니의 부정적 정서표현성, 양육스트레스, 자아존중감 순으로 나타났다. 어머니의 과보호 양육행동에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변인은 어머니의 양육스트레스이며 어머니의 일관적 양육행동에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변인은 어머니의 부정적 정서표현성, 긍정적 정서표현성 순으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 어머니의 정서표현성은 애정적, 일관적 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 요인이며, 어머니의 자아존중감은 애정적, 거부적 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 요인이며, 어머니가 지각하는 양육스트레스는 거부적, 과보호적 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변인임을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to explore the relationships of parenting behavior of preschooler s mother with mother s self-esteem, maternal emotional expressiveness, and maternal parenting stress and to investigate the effects of mother s self-esteem, maternal emotional expressiveness, and maternal parenting stress on maternal parenting behavior. The participants were 114 mothers of preschoolers from four day care center and one kindergarten in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. Mothers completed rating scales to measure their parenting behavior, self-esteem, emotional expressiveness, and parenting stress. The data were analyzed using reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, correlations, and multiple regressions. The results were as follows: (1) Statistically significant relationships were found between maternal parenting behavior and mother s self-esteem, maternal emotional expressiveness, and maternal parenting stress. (2) The results of regression analyses revealed that maternal expressiveness, mother s self-esteem explained maternal parenting behavior of warmth. Maternal negative expressiveness, maternal parenting stress, mother s low self-esteem explained maternal parenting behavior of rejection. Maternal parenting stress explained maternal parenting behavior of overprotection. Maternal expressiveness explained maternal parenting behavior of consistency.
