초등학교 또래상담자가 경험한 어려움에 대한 합의적 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 또래상담자들이 또래상담 훈련 과정과 또래상담 활동과정 중 경험하는 어려움을 이해하고 이들의 또래상담 활동을 보다 효과적으로 교육하고 조력할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 필요한 시사점을 제언하는데 있다. 이를 위 해 또래상담 훈련을 받고 6개월 이상 또래상담 활동을 한 경험이 있는 9명의 초등학교 또래상담자들을 대상으로 2018년 7월부터 10월까지 심층면담을 진행하였으며, 이후 3명의 합의팀을 구성하여 자료를 분석하였고, 분석된 결과에 대하여 감수자의 피 드백을 받아 수정 보완하였다. 최종적으로 다음과 같은 결과가 도출되었다. 첫째, 또래상담 훈련의 어려움은 친한 친구 없이 혼자 훈련에 참석하는 것에 대한 걱정, 또래상담에 대한 정보 부족, 훈련 내용과 방법에 대한 불만족, 또래상담 훈련 공동체 안에서의 어려움, 주변 선생님들의 태도로 인한 어려움, 훈련 참여 시간 확보의 어려움을 경험하였다. 둘째, 또래상담 활동 중의 어려움으로는 상담자 역할에 대한 부담, 미숙한 대처능력과 전문성 부족, 스마트폰으로 하는 상담의 어려움, 내담자와 관계 맺기 어려움, 상담자를 위한 여러 지원의 부족에 관한 내용이 도출되었다. 이 연구는 초등학교 또래상담자들이 상담 훈련 및 상담 활동에서 경험하는 어려움의 범주와 내용을 탐색하여 또래상담자로서 겪는 경험에 대한 이해를 높였으며, 또래상담 지도 교사 및 교육 프로그램 개발자들에게 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the difficulties experienced by elementary school peer counselors during the peer counseling training and during the counseling activities. In order to achieve this purpose, we analyzed the interviews of 9 elementary school peer counselors who have been engaged in peer counseling for more than six months, using the CQR (Consensual Qualitative Research) analysis method. We interviewed for three months and analyzed data for two months. Difficulties in peer counseling training were concerned about participating in the training alone without close friend s, not knowing about the peer counseling, dissatisfied with contents and methods of training, difficulties in peer counseling training community, difficulties due to teachers attitudes, and difficulty in securing time for training. In addition, the difficulty of peer counseling activities resulted from the burden of counselor role, inadequate coping ability and lack of professionalism, difficulty of counseling by smart phone, difficulty of connecting with client, and lack of support for counselor. This study has investigated the extent of difficulty experienced by elementary school peer counselors in counseling training and counseling activities to improve their understanding of experiences as peer counselors. And it can be used as basic data for peer counseling guidance among teachers and program developers, and general teacher training materials as well.
