국문 초록

본 연구는 다큐 애니메이션 <페루자>를 콘텐츠로 활용한 포토 에세이 쓰기의 효과성을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 숭실대학교의 교양 글쓰기 과목 <사고와 표현> 두 분반과 서울신학대학교의 <교양독서와 글쓰기> 세 분반의 수강생 총 121명 을 대상으로 포토 에세이 쓰기를 진행하였다. 본 수업은 1, 2차시에 걸쳐서 포토 에세이 작성법 이해, 영화 상영, ‘나의 놀이와 꿈’에 대한 조별토의, 포토 에세이 쓰기를 진행하였으며, 후에 교수자의 피드백과 학습자들의 발표를 통해 글을 공유하고 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 수업은 Huizinga와 Caillois의 놀이 이론을 도입함으로써 ‘놀이’와 ‘꿈’에 대한 학습자들의 진지한 논의를 이끌어낼 수 있었다. 본고는 학습자들이 작성한 포토 에세이와 설문조사 결과를 분석함으로써 본 수업의 효과성을 검증하였다. 놀이와 연계한 ‘꿈 스케치’는 미래를 계획하기 시작하는 학습자들이 자신의 지향에 대해 진지하고도 즐거운 고민을 이끌어 낼 수 있었다는 점에서 의미를 지닌다. 특히 대학 신입생인 학습자들에게 놀이정신 속에서 자신의 꿈을 찾아가는 계기를 마련해줄 수 있었다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of photo essay writing utilizing Documentary Animation FERUZA as contents. For this purpose, 121 students taking two subjects of writing as liberal education, “Thinking and Expression” of Soongsil University and “Reading and Writing as Liberal Education” of Seoul Theological University were asked to write a photo essay. This class proceeded with an understanding of how to write a photo essay, group discussion of the film, “My Play and Dream” and photo essay writing in two class hours. The essays were shared through the instructor’s feedback and the learners’ presentations, and a survey was conducted. This class could draw the learners’ serious discussions about ‘play’ and ‘dream’ by adopting the play theory by Johan Huizinga and Roger Caillois. This study verified the effectiveness of this class by analyzing the photo essays and the results of the survey completed by the learners. ‘Dream Sketch’ linked to play has a significance in that it could draw serious and pleasant concerns about the orientation of the learners who began to plan the future. Especially, it has another significance in that it could prepare a chance for the learners who were freshmen to look for their dreams in the spirit of play.
