대학 말하기 수업의 효과와 평가연구

국문 초록

대학의 말하기 교육은 양적으로 빠르게 성장하여 목표와 내용 및 교수법에 관한 논의가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나 말하기의 평가나 효과와 관련된 연구는 말하기의 휘발적 속성과 화자와 청자의 변수로 어려움이 큰 분야 중 하나이다. 이 연구 는 말하기 수업의 효과적 운영과 평가방안을 마련하기 위해 시도되었다. 참여 학생의 말하기 능력을 본인평가와 청중평가로 실시하고 이를 사전-사후 검증하였다. 측정결과, 말하기 영역의 특성과 평가 주체에 따라 결과는 다르게 나타났다. 말하기 영 역 중에서 ‘내용구성영역’이 ‘표현 및 전달영역’보다 높은 평균의 증가가 있었다. 본인평가에서는 통계적으로 유의미하게 평균이 증가하였으나 청중평가에서는 표현 및 전달역량에서 약간의 감소가 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 말하기 수업에서 내용구성 영역에 비해서 표현 및 전달영역의 향상이 어려우며 이를 보완하기 위한 수업구성이 필요하다는 시사점을 제시한다. 또한 평가 시에 본인평가와 청중평가의 비중을 달리 할 필요가 있으며, 교수자와 같은 전문가의 평가가 뒷받침되어야 한다는 점을 시사한다. 이 연구는 효과적인 말하기 수업과 평가를 위하여 평가자의 특성을 고려해야하고 말하기의 영역에 따라 수업효과가 다르다는 것을 발견한데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Speaking education in college has grown rapidly in quantity, and discussions on goals, contents, and teaching methods are actively underway. However, studies related to the evaluation and effects of speech are difficult because of the volatile nature of speech and the variables of speaker and listener. For the evaluation of the speaking lesson, the participant s speaking ability was evaluated by the self - evaluation and the audience evaluation, and it was pre - post - verified. As a result of the measurement, the results were different according to the characteristics of the speaking area and also according to the audience and audience evaluation. In the speaking area, there was an average increase of content composition area higher than expression and delivery area . This result was statistically significant in the self-evaluation, but there was a slight decrease in expression and communication capacity in the audience evaluation. This result suggests that it is difficult to improve the expression and delivery area compared to the contents composition area in the speaking lesson, and suggests that the lesson composition is needed to supplement it. Also, it was suggested that the ratio of self - evaluation and audience evaluation should be different at the time of evaluation and the evaluation of experts such as professors should be supported. This study implies that it is important to consider the characteristics of the evaluator for effective speaking lessons and evaluation, and to find that the effectiveness of the lessons varies according to the area of speaking.
