영문 초록

After the global economic crisis, many problems in Korea caused by the prolonged education period and the vicious cycle of employment difficulties after graduation are having a huge impact on the housing problems of the younger generation, who are directly affected by the problem. With employment and marriage delayed more than five years from late 20s to early 30s, the period of residence in rental market for single-person households naturally lengthened, while the younger generation will live on monthly rent due to lack of money for frequent housing transfers, housing training due to school and employment. Despite the recent decline in housing prices, current housing prices are difficult for younger generations to buy houses on their own, and the monthly rent increase also reduces disposable income, thereby losing even a chance to raise money. This problem of the younger generation is not just the problem of Seoul and big cities. Even in in the case of small and medium-sized cities such as Gumi City, the housing burden of college students and working young people is aggravated, and the unstable settlement conditions makes young people feel uneasy. This problem is perhaps more seriously linked to the question of the existence of cities. This study investigates the characteristics of young people in Gumi city and the ways to improve the settlement conditions are searched. In addition, this study proposes an alternative to the urban existence problems faced by small and medium sized cities in Korea.
