영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand most influential factors when a new drug project is evaluated and selected for the next step by analyzing the factors that influence the selection of new drug development projects of Korea Drug Development Fund (KDDF). Total 165 projects that applied to KDDF innovative track were grouped according to the nature of the project; the type of the drug, development stages, type of organization, innovativeness of the project and logistic regression were performed for each group to analyze the factors significantly affecting on the selection of the project. The analysis result showed that influencing factors on the selection process varies by nature of the project and affected differently. It also showed that the most influential factor was the technology superiority for the selection of biological drug project and the unmet medical needs in case of non-biological drug project. This study provides implication on the improvement of evaluation process by defining important factors by each characteristic of new drug development and research project.
