아동기 우울의 성별 발달 궤적과 자존감의 종단적 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 아동을 대상으로 성별에 따른 우울의 성장요인(초기치, 발달 궤적)의 동질성, 자존감과 우울의 성장요인 사이의 상호영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기교육종단 패널조사에서 수집된 3년간(2012-2014)의 초등 패널 자료를 사용하여 다 집단 잠재성장 분석으로 남녀 집단의 우울과 자존감의 상호영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 우울의 초기치 평균은 성별에 따른 차이를 나타내지 않았으나, 우울의 발달 궤적은 성별에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났 다. 이와 같이 남녀 간의 성장요인의 발달에서 차이가 있어, 우울 성장요인과 자존감의 상호영향은 남녀 성별로 각각 살폈다. 남녀 모두 초기 자존감이 높은 경우 우울이 낮았으며, 우울의 변화율이 크게 나타났다. 또한 우울의 초기값이 높을수록, 그리고 우울의 변화율이 클수록 시간 경과 후 자존감이 낮게 나타나 우울과 자존감의 인지적 취약성모델과 상처모델이 모두 지지되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 상담실제와 후속연구의 시사점을 논의하였다

영문 초록

This study is to examine the relationship between self-esteem and the trajectory of depression development and the homogeneity of depression between the two genders of elementary students. To do this, using the data on the elementary student panels collected for three years in the Gyeonggi Education Panel Study (GEPS, 2012-2014), the multi-group analysis of the latent growth is performed to analyze the reciprocal impact between self-esteem and depression in both genders. It is found that the mean of the initial values of depression did not show significant difference between genders, but the trajectory of depression development is found to be different between genders. Thus, as there were differences in the growth factor of depression, the reciprocal impact between the depression growth factor and self-esteem is analyzed by gender. In both genders, those who have high initial self-esteem showed low depression, while the larger trajectory of depression development. In other words, as the initial values of depression were higher and the trajectory of depression development was larger, self-esteem was shown low, which supports both the scar model and the cognitive vulnerability model of depression and self-esteem. Implications to counseling and future research counseling and future research direction are also discussed.
