국문 초록

언어 기능 중심의 초등영어의 한계점을 극복하고 학습자의 교과 배경 지식과 사고능력을 활성화 시킬 있는 내용 언어 통합 초등영어 교육에 대한 관심이 증대하고 있다. 본 연구는 2003년부터 2017년까지 발표된 내용 언어통합 국내 학술지 논문 52 편을 시기별, 주제별, 연구방법 별로 분석하여 연구 경향 및 국내 교육 상황에 맞는 내용 통합 초등 영어수업을 위한 기초자료를 수집하고자했다. 주요 연구 결과로는 2008년부터 내용 언어 통합 연구가 급증하였으며 2013년부터는 교과 내용 통합에의 새로운 교수·전략 등 현장적용을 위한 방안이 모색되어졌다. 또한 주지 교과보다 기능 교과 통합 시 정의적 영역에서 효과가 더 크며 고학년 학생들에게 효과가 큰 교과는 수학, 과학 교과인 것으로 나왔다. 교과 내용 통합 수업 활성화를 위해 교수·학 습 자료 개발 및 교사용 지도서에 실제적인 수업 전략이 수록 되어야 하며 내용 언어 통합 전문 교사 양성을 위한 온·오프 프로그램 개발이 요구되어진다.

영문 초록

There is an increasing interest in content and language integrated elementary English education which overcomes limitations of elementary English education focusing on mainly language function and activates learners subject knowledge and thinking ability. The purpose of this study was to analyze 52 articles published in Korean journalsbetween 2003 and 2017 by period, subject, and research method to collect basic data for content - integrated elementary English lesson according to research trend and domestic education situation. The result revealed that the number of CLIL researches has increased rapidly since 2008. In addition, many CLIL programs have been implemented in elementary English classes, but there is still no consensus in appropriate instructional model for CLIL classes. It is also found that math and science are more effective subjects for upper graders, and functional subjects are more effective in affective aspects. To support effective implementation of CLIL in regular classes, practical teaching strategies and supplementary teaching materials should be included in teachers’ guidebooks.
