숲 체험 활동에서 유아교사가 경험하는 숲의 의미 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교사가 숲 체험 활동을 실시하는 동안 경험하는 숲의 의미를 알아보기 위해 10인의 유아교사들과 2017년 9월부터 12월까지 면담을 실시하고 이를 질적으로 분석하였다. 숲 체험 활동에 참여하는 동안 유아교사들에게 숲은 관계의 변화를 경험하게 하는 곳이었다. 유아교사들은 내가 중심인 관계에서, 숲이 중심인 관계로, 숲, 유아, 유아교사의 상호관계와 같이 변화되는 관계에 따라 숲을 인식하였다. 숲 체험 활동 초기에 내가 중심인 관계에서 숲을 인식하는 유아교사들은 숲에서 자신들이 느끼는 감정과 해야 한다고 생각하는 역할에 집중하였다. 점차 숲이 중심이 되는 관계에서 숲을 끊임없이 내어주는 곳으로 여기게 된 유아교사들은 숲이 제공하는 비구조적인 자료와 공간, 감각적 경험들, 변화하는 풍경들을 느끼고 그에 따라 활동에 참여하고 있었다. 마지막으로 숲, 유아, 교사들의 상호관계에서 숲을 새로운 관계와 의미를 형성하는 곳으로 의미부여 하게 된 유아교사들은 유아와 교사의 관계, 숲과 우리(유아와 교사)의 관계, 유아교사 자신들의 교육 목표와 교육적 의미들을 재구성 하게 되었다. 유아교사들이 숲의 의미를 관계의 변화와 그에 따른 역할과 의미의 변화를 경험하게 하는 곳으로 인식한 본 연구 결과는 추후의 숲 체험 활동과 교사교육 이 숲과 인간의 관계에 기반 할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study is to identify the meanings of the forest experienced by early childhood educators while implementing the forest experience activities. The researcher conducted the individual interview with 10 early childhood educators and analyzed it qualitatively. Early childhood educators mentioned that the forest made them experience the changes in the relation between the forest, early childhood educators, and children. In the early phase of the forest experience activities, the early childhood educators have the I-centered relationship with the forest and recognize the forest as the place I experience. And the early childhood educators then have the forest-centered relationship with the forest and recognize the forest as the place the forest provides various materials and experiences. At last, the early childhood educators become to have the interrelationship between children, early childhood educators, and the forest, and recognized the forest as the place the new relationship and meanings are formed.
