영문 초록

This Study aims to review the conflict of the sunken rock Ieodo in overlapping exclusive economic zone(hereafter EEZ) between Korea and China, and to strengthen the sense of sovereignty of Korean people on Ieodo sea zone . To obtain the purpose, this study has analyzed the causes of the conflict on the maritime boundary delimitation of the EEZ between Korea and China, and has deduced the measures to extend the universal image of Ieodo sea zone. The major findings are as follows. The causes of the conflict between them, are from the negotiation process for EEZ boundary delimitation and the marine resources, Ieodo Ocean Research Station as a geographical fact, and are from the fanciful island Ieodo as Jeju island people s utopia. This paper has presented some measures to strengthen the sense of sovereignty on the Ieodo sea zone of Korean people. They need to routinize the communication about Ieodo, to expand an amicable sea rescue, to provide the events related sea and the expert group meeting, to give shape to Ieodo as an art work of high standard, and so on.
