국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인 자원봉사 참여대학생의 성별 및 학년에 따른 특성과 장애인 자원봉사의 경험에 따른 사회적 거리감, 장애수용태도, 공감능력의 차이를 확인하기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 부산광역시에 소재한 4년제 대학(5개교)에 재학 중인 남·여 학생 750명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 중 불성실하게 응답했다고 판단되는 설문지 38부를 제외하고 총 712명의 자료를 결과분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 자료분석을 위해 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 Chi-square 검증과 일원배치 분산분석으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 성별 및 학년에 따른 장애인 자원봉사의 특성은 여학생이 남학생에 비해 자원봉사 참여횟수 및 참여기간이 많은 특성을 보이며, 이러한 경험은 학년이 올라갈수록 많아졌다가 4학년 때는 다시 작아지는 특성을 나타냈다. 둘째, 장애인 자원봉사 경험이 많은 대학생이 사회적 거리감, 장애수용태도, 공감능력에서 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 본 연구는 대학생의 장애인 자원봉사에 따른 사회적 거리감, 장애수용태도, 공감능력의 차이를 분석함으로써 장애인 자원봉사에 대한 사회적 관심과 노력을 확대하고, 장애인 인식 개선교육을 위한 자원봉사의 체계를 마련하는 기초자료를 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of social distance, disability acceptance attitude, and empathy ability according to the gender and grade characteristics of university students participating in volunteer activities for the disabled. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 712 male and female university students in Busan. The data were analyzed using Chi-square test and one-way ANOVA using SPSS 21.0 program. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the characteristics of the volunteer for the handicapped according to gender and grade of university students showed that the number of volunteer participation and duration of volunteering are higher in female students than male students. These experiences indicated that the number of students increased as the grade increased and decreased again in the fourth grade. Second, the university students who had many volunteer experiences of the disabled showed more positive attitude toward social distance, disability acceptance attitude, and empathy ability than those who did not. Based on the results of this study, this study suggests that it is necessary to expand the social interest and effort for volunteering for the disabled by analyzing the differences of social distance, disability acceptance attitude, and empathy ability of university students participating in volunteering for the disabled. It is also important to note that this study provided basic data on the development of a volunteer system for education that improves awareness of people with disabilities.
