초등교사의 유치원 방문기: 유·초연계의 관점에서

국문 초록

성공적인 유·초연계를 위해 유아교사와 초등교사의 상호소통과 협력이 전제되어야 한다. 본 연구는 유·초연계의 관점에서 유치원과 1학년의 교실 비교를 통해 초등교사가 느끼는 유치원과의 차이점을 확인하여 유·초연계를 위한 방안을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 2016년 8월 25일부터 9월 4일까지 6명의 초등교사가 유치원을 방문하여유치원의 일과를 관찰하고, 관찰 후 초등교사를 대상으로 반구조화된 인터뷰를 실시하였으며 유아교사와 초등교사가 함께 참여하는 집단인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 내용은 발견되는 주요 개념별로 코딩하여 분석하였다. 초등교사가 유치원을 관찰한 결과 유·초연계 관점에서 차별적인 모습을 1) 유아에게 열려있어 스스로 활동하고 쉴 수 있는 공간, 2) 아동의 발달 및 요구를 고려한 융통적인 시간 구성, 3) 교사와 유아 간의 가까운 거리, 4) 자유롭지만 기대보다는 정형화된 유치원 활동으로 요약 할 수 있다. 유·초연계를 위한 방안을 탐색해보면 학습자의 발달단계를 고려한 적합한 공간, 시간 구성이 필요하고, 미시적인 수준에서 유아와 교사 간의 긍정적인 관계가 중요하다. 유·초연계를 위한 유아교육에서의 노력이 학교화로 이어지지 않도록 유의해야 한다. 앞으로 유치원과 초등학교 간 교사가 더 협력하고 소통할 수 있게 하여 유아의 관점에서 긍정적인 유·초연계 방안을 공유할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The successful transition requires communication and cooperation of teachers between from kindergarten and primary school. This study seeks to the differences which the primary school teachers recognize after they observe what children experience in the kindergarten focusing on the transition. The six primary school teachers participated in the classroom observation, semi-structured interviews and focus group interview from Aug, 25 to 4th, Sep, 2016. As the results, the primary schol teachers summarized the differences as followings: The opened space which allows children to interact and take a rest, flexible time organization for children s development and needs. the close relationship between the children and teachers, children s interactions which seemed less free than the primary school teacher expected. This study expect that kindergarten and primary school teachers share the strategies for the successful transition from the communication and cooperation of each other.
