국문 초록
본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 반려동물 경험 및 상호작용이 초등학생의 감성지능에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 인천에 거주하는 5-6학년 초등학생 361명을 대상으로 2018년 3월부터 4월 동안 반려동물 상호작용 척도와 초등학생용 감성
지능척도를 통해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS21 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 변인사이의 관계를 알아보고자 t-test와 상관분석, 단순회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 반려동물 경험이 초등학생의 감성지능에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 반려동물과의 상호작용이 초등학생의 감성지능에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 반려동물 경험이 있는 학생 중 여자가 남자보다 타인감성 이해 수준이 더 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 반려동물 중 개를 키운 초등학생이 고양이를 키운 초등학생보다 타인감성 이해 수준이 더 높게 나타났다
영문 초록
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of companion animal experience and interaction on elementary students’ emotional intelligence. The survey targeting the 361 students in the classes of 5th and 6th grade in Incheon city were conducted through the measurement of the interaction with pets and the emotional intelligence for elementary students. The gathered dates were analyzed by SPSS21 program. To investigate how all the variables related, T-test, a correlation analysis and simple regression analysis were conducted. The results of the study as follows. First, it has been proven that the animal experience can have a significant effect on the emotional intelligence of elementary school students. Second, the interaction with pet animals had positive effects on elementary students’ emotional intelligence. Third, the female students with the animal experience had the higher level of understanding of
other people than the male students. Fourth, the students who raised a dog had higher level of understanding others than the students who raised a cat.
