자유학기제 관련 신문 기사 분석:

국문 초록

이 연구는 2013년부터 추진된 자유학기제 정책에 대하여 언론에 표출된 인식과 그 변화 추이를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 11개 중앙지에 2013년 1월부터 2017년 8월까지 게재된 신문 기사 중 의견이나 주장이 포함된 기사 118편을 선정하 여 내용 분석과 네크워크 텍스트 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정책에 대한 입장은 찬성이 압도적이었고, 주제에 있어서는 제도에 대한 소개 및 기대에 관한 기사가 다수를 차지하였다. 또한 글의 유형은 기고 또는 기사가 대부분이었고, 언급 주체에 있어서는 기자가 가장 많았다. 둘째, 가장 많이 언급된 주요어는 ‘자유학기제’, 두 번째는 ‘학생’이었고, ‘교육’, ‘수업’, ‘학교’, ‘진로’, ‘교사’, ‘중학 교’의 순으로 높은 빈도를 나타냈으며, 연결 중심성은 ‘자유학기제’와 ‘교육’이 가장 높고, ‘학생’, ‘진로’, ‘중학교’, ‘학교’가 그 뒤를 이었다. 셋째, 긍정 관련어로는 ‘다양’,‘기회’, ‘탐색’이, 부정 관련어로는 ‘부담’, ‘고민’의 연결 중심성이 상대적으로 높았고,‘진로’, ‘학생’, ‘학교’는 긍정과 부정 단어들과 함께 출현하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 자유학기제 정책의 긍정적인 성과를 전반적으로 확인할 수 있었고, 자유학기제를 통해 수업과 학교, 교사의 역할을 본격적으로 고민하게 되었으며, 실질적인 교육의 변화를 가져오고 국민적인 공감대를 형성하는 단계에 진입하였음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed newspaper articles to understand the perceptions and changes in the media about the Free-Semester Policy starting from 2103. For the purpose, among the newspaper articles published in 11 central regions from January 2013 to August 2017, 118 articles with opinions or claims were selected and contents analysis and network text analysis were conducted. The main results are as follows. First, position on the policy was overwhelmingly favorable and there was a lot of articles about introduction and expectations on the theme. Also, the type of article is mostly contribution or articles, reporters were the most common on the referent subject. Second, the most frequently mentioned key words are ‘free semester’ and ‘student’ are next, and next are ‘education’, ‘lesson’, ‘school’, ‘course’, ‘teacher’, ‘middle school’. The connection centrality is highest in ‘free semester’ and ‘education’, ‘student’, ‘course’,‘middle school’, ‘student’ followed. Third, affirmative relation has a high connection centrality of ‘diversity’, ‘opportunity’ and ‘search’, negative relation has a high connection centrality of ‘burden’, ‘worry’. And ‘career’, ‘student’, ‘school’ appeared with positive and negative words. Based on the results of these analysis, we could confirm the positive results of the free semester policy overall, through the liberal school system, we are seriously worried about the role of classes, schools, and teachers, and that it has entered a stage of bringing about substantial educational change and forming a consensus of the people.
