An aim of the present study was to determine if schizont antigen of the chicken coccidian, E. tenella, would reacted with serum of chicken infected with the E. tenella. Antigenic profile of water soluble form cecal tissue of the chicken was analized by SDS-PAGE and Western blot technique. Coomassian blue stained SDS-PAGE gel revealed at least 23 protein bands of approximately 120KD, 90KD, 80KD, 78KD, 66KD, 60KD, 58KD, 52KD, 49KD, 44KD, 30KD, 23KD and 14KD molecular weight.
A few protein bands recognized in the noninfected cecal membrane with E. tenella. Schizont antigen of E. tenella recognized by anti-serum of chicken infected with E. tenella at l15KD, 78KD, 27KD and 18KD molecular weight using phosphatase labeled affinity purified antibody to chicken lgG(H+L) (goat).
The reduction rate of OPG which was counted everyday to observe the decline pattern of oocyst of E. tenalla in the immunized chicken group, was shown as Y=1.78X²-0.000016 X+l3.07 (P>0.301) and The reduction rate of OPG in the re-inoculation group and twice re-inoculation group challenged with E. tenella had shown as Y=-4.267x²-0.0000018 X+ll.72 (P>0.8093) and Y=3.587x²-0.000008994 X+l3.186 (P>0.2109) respectly. There was significant difference at OPG of sequencial day in the immunized chicken group and also immunized group compared with re-inoculation and twice re-inoculation group chickens. However there were no siginificant difference of reduction rate of OPG between re-inoculation group and twice re-inoculation chicken group.
Repeated inoculation (immunization) of chickens with E. tenella partially protected the chickens against a subsequent challenge with 10×10³ E. tenella oocysts.
At 7 days post-challenge the OPG of the immunized chickens with E. tenella was effect of anticoccidial drugs (MTMP, AFT and APH) in immunized chicken was observed through reduction rate of OPG according to dosage as recomanded dosage, 5 time dosage and ten time dosage of recommanded dosage respectively, there were not observed any significant difference between different each dosage group. MTMP and APH administrated groups chicken had the increased OPG immediately to be ceased the production at 7 or 8th day of post-medication But AFT administrated group had the decreased OPG to be ceased at 5th day of post medication.
