회칙 ｢찬미받으소서｣(Laudato si )의 사회교리적 차원

국문 초록

현대 세계의 지구 기후 이상 문제는 하루 이틀 제기된 문제가 아니다. 북극의 빙하가 녹고, 때 아닌 한파와 폭설이 몰아치고, 예상치 못한 대지진과 해일 등말 그대로 지구는 지금 몸살을 앓고 있다. 이러한 생태 위기의 시대에 프란치스 코 교황은 의미 있는 회칙을 내 놓았는데, 그것은 바로 2015년 5월 24일에 발표된 ｢찬미받으소서｣(Laudato Si )이다. 이 소논문에서는 회칙 ｢찬미받으소서｣ 3장과 4장에 나타난 사회교리적 차원에 대하여 살펴보았다. 우선 회칙의 전체 구조와 내용에 대하여 간략하게 살펴 보았고, 이어지는 본문에서 특별히 회칙의 3장과 4장의 내용을 중심으로 프란 치스코 교황이 현대 사회 안의 생태 문제에 대하여 어떻게 사회적인 차원에서 접근하고 있는지 알아보았다. 회칙의 둘째 부분에 해당하는 3장과 4장에서는 인간이 초래한 생태 위기의 근본적인 원인으로서 기술 중심적 사고와 기술 관 료적 패러다임의 세계화, 그리고 현대 사회에 만연해 있는 그릇된 인간 중심주의 폐해를 들고 있다. 이러한 근본 문제에 대한 해결책으로 교황은 인간적, 사회적 차원을 충분히 존중하는 통합 생태론에 대해서 소개하면서 ‘통합생태론’과 연결되어 있는 사회교리적 요소인 ‘공동선의 원리’에 대하여 강조하고 있다. 프란치스코 교황은 회칙 ｢찬미받으소서｣에서 오늘날을 살아가는 인간들로 하여금 다시 한 번 세상을 대하는 시각의 전환이 필요하다는 사실을 일깨워준다. 교황의 견해에 따르면, 인간의 발전과 함께 초래된 여러 환경 문제들은 단순히 기술적인 패러다임의 전환을 통해 해결될 문제가 아니다. 기술적인 발전과 함께 진정한 인간 발전을 이루기 위해서는 인간의 영적 ․ 내적 발전 영역에서도 심도 깊은 관찰과 분석이 필요한 것이다. 결국 윤리적인 성찰 없이 외형적인 발전만을 추구하는 것은 그 본연의 의미에서의 인간 발전과 멀리 떨어져 있는 것이라고 말할 수 있다. 따라서 전인적이고 통합적인 사고 안에서 생태 문제를 살펴보는 것이 오늘날을 살아가는 우리들에게 절실하게 요구된다고 말할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The earthly climate anomaly is not the matter of these days. Glacier melting in the North Pole, unseasonable cold wave and heavy snow, unpredictable earthquake and tsunami hit the earth. The earth is sick. Under the ecological-crisis era, Pope Francis sent letter of Encyclical, Laudato Si , which is published on May 24th, 2015. This study examined social dogma dimension shown in Chapter 3, 4 of Laudato Si . Briefly looked over whole structure and contents, then approached to how Pope approached on social dogma dimension about ecological problem in society. In Chapter 3 and 4, which is the second part, it is shown that the main causes of this human-made ecological-crisis are techno-oriented thinking, globalization of techno-bureaucratic paradigm, and wrongly affected by human-centering harmful consequences. The solutions to such a basic problem which Pope Francis proposed is Integral Ecology , which fully respects human, social dimension and emphasized principle of common good , element of social dogma, which are related to Integral Ecology . Encyclical Laudato Si awaken us that human being needs paradigm change to the world in modern era. According to his view, the environmental problems derived from humane development are not the problems that can be solved by mere techno paradigm change. To achieve real humane development, it is required profound observation and analysis of human spiritual and intrinsic dimension along with technology development. Pursuing external development without ethical sell-examination is far from true human development. So, to look on ecology problem within holistic and integral think is urgently needed to us.
