노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할인식 유형화 연구

국문 초록

장기요양보험제도의 실시로 노인요양시설 및 시설에 종사하는 사회복지사 수의 증가에도 불구하고 아직까지 노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할은 기관마다 상이하며 표준화되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 이러한 상황은 노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할 혼돈을 초래하고 있으며, 결국 이용자에 대한 질 높은 서비스 제공에 장애를 가져올 것으로 예측된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제제기를 통해 노인요양시설에 근무하는 사회복지사가 자신의 역할을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 살펴보는 것을 연구 목적으로 하였다. 연구참여자는 C 지역 노인요양시설에 재직 중인 사회복지사 30명이며, 노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할에 대한 인식유형과 각 유형의 특성을 Q 방법론을 활용하여 탐색하였다. 연구결과, 노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할은 <고충처리 중시형>, <기관홍보 및 운영 중시형>, <기 관평가 및 행정 중시형>, <전문서비스 중시형> 등의 4가지 유형으로 제시되었다. 결론 에서는 주요 연구결과를 바탕으로 논의한 후, 노인요양시설 사회복지사의 역할 정립을 위한 실천적, 정책적 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The roles of social workers in the nursing home are not standardized yet and vary by facilities even though the number of them in the nursing home has been rapidly increasing since the introduction of Long-Term Care Insurance. A lack of clearly defined expectations contributes to role confusion among nursing home staffs. This study examined the nursing home social workers’ role perception using Q method and thirty social workers employed in C Province nursing homes were recruited. Through the study, four types of role perception emerged: ‘grievance resolution focused’, ‘facility operation and advertising focused’, ‘facility evaluation preparation and administrative work focused’, and ‘professional service provision focused’. The findings highlighted the importance of the nursing home social workers’ role establishment. Also, implications for social work practice and policy are discussed.
