This experiment was undertaken to determine the causative agent of dermatophytosis occurred in the laboratory rat.
Direct microscopic examination, culture and pathogenicity test were performed for the samples of hair and scale Obtained from the skin lesion of the affected laboratory rat.
The causative agent was identified as Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
