유아교육기관장의 일과 학업병행 경험의 의미

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 유아교육기관의 원장이 일과 학업을 병행하는 경험과 의미에 대해 심층 분석하였다. 연구대상은 유치원 혹은 어린이집의 원장으로 대학원 유아교 육전공 박사학위과정을 병행하는 학생 6명을 대상으로 13주 동안 개인당 6~8회의 심층면담으로 진행되었다. 그 결과 유아교육기관장의 일과 학업병행 경험은 각기 다른 꿈꾸기, 끝없는 자신과의 싸움하기, 슈퍼우먼 포기하기, 만남과 소통 속에서 학습하기, 체화학습자 되기, 이론과 현장 공존하기이다. 유아교육기관장의 일과 학업병행의 경험의 의미는 전문가 중에 전문가, 합리적인 시간 운영자, 존경의 대상 자, 학습을 즐기는 자, 또 다른 꿈을 꾸는 도전자의 다섯 가지 주제로 해석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 현직교사 및 원장에게 학업을 계획하고 선택하는데 신중한 결정을 할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 것이며, 재교육 현장인 대학 및 대학원에서 일과 학업을 병행하는 학생의 심리적 상황을 이해하여 프로그램의 내용과 수준을 결정하는데 정보를 제공할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This research analyzed in depth the experience and meaning of juggling work and study for directors of educational organizations for infants and children such as kindergartens and daycare centers. For this, 13 students in the doctorate degree at the graduate school of early childhood education, who are also directors of a kindergarten or a daycare center, were interviewed in depth for 13 weeks, 6-8 times per person. As a result, their experience of doing work and studying at the same time included dreaming different dreams, fighting with themselves ceaselessly, giving up on the idea of being a superwoman, learning in meetings and communications, becoming an embodied learner, and coexisting theory and practice. The meaning of their experience of juggling both work and study was interpreted in 5 different topics: professional of the professionals, reasonable time operator, object of respect, learner enjoying studying, challenger dreaming another dream. The result of this research is expected to be helpful for in-service teachers and directors to make wise decisions in planning and choosing whether or not to study. It can also provide them with information for deciding program contents and levels through understanding of psychological conditions of college or graduate school students who work as well.
