국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 일본과 싱가포르의 과학 교과서에 제시된 과학사 관련 내용을 분석하여 우리나라 과학 교과서에 제시된 과학사 내용과 비교하는 것이다. 이를 위 해서 일본과 싱가포르 교과서 19권에서 과학사 내용을 추출하여 교과서에 제시된 과학사의 형태와 조직, 과학사의 내용, 과학사를 도입하는데 사용된 자료 등의 범주 로 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학사 내용의 빈도수는 세 나 라 중에서 우리나라의 과학 교과서에서 가장 많았다. 둘째, 세 나라 모두 과학의 인 지적 측면을 강조하고 있으며, 탐구적 요소나 정의적 요소는 부족하였다. STS 측면 은 우리나라의 과학 교과서에서 가장 많이 발견되었다. 셋째, 과학 교과서에 제시된 과학사 내용은 서양 과학사 내용이 주를 이루었으며, 일본의 과학 교과서에서는 우 리나라의 과학 교과서에서보다 자국의 과학자, 과학 내용을 많이 포함하고 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the history of science in science textbooks of Japan and Singapore, comparing with that of Korea. For this, we analyzed the type and system of the history of science, the content of history of science, and the source of the history of science in 19 science textbooks published in Japan and Singapore. We compared the data with previous results in Korean science textbook. The findings of this study are as follows. First, we could find more contents of history of science in Korean science textbooks than those of Japan and Singapore science textbooks. Second, in science texbooks of Japan and Singapore, the majority of contents was presented in perspectives of cognitive domain with nothing in perspectives of inquiry and affective domain. We could find more STS-related contents in Korean science textbooks than those in Japan and Singapore science textbooks. Third, the history of science mainly came from western science. Science textbooks in Japan include many scientific results accomplished in Japan as well as Japanese scientists.
