국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화를 위한 방안을 모색하여 실행하고 이에 따른 유아 및 교사의 반응을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 서울시에 위치한 대학부속유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 만 3-4세 유아 24 명과 연구자를 포함한 교사 4명을 대상으로 독서교육을 실시하고 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화를 위하여 교육과정과 연계한 독서교육, 지역사회와 연계한 독서교 육으로 독서교육의 체계를 수립하고 그에 따른 활동을 구체적으로 마련하여 실행하였다. 둘째, 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 독서교육 활성화 방안에 따른 유아의 반응을 살펴보면 자발적인 책 읽기 행동, 책에 대한 상호작용과 적극성이 증가하였으 며 다양한 책에 대한 관심과 흥미가 확대되었다. 교사들은 연구를 진행하면서 실천적 지식이 구축됨에 따라 유아 독서교육에 대한 전문성이 신장되었으며, 유아 독서 교육의 지속적인 실행에 대한 자발적인 의지가 형성되었다는 반응을 보였다. 본 연구는 유치원 독립편성 종일제 학급의 배경과 특성을 고려하여 만 3-4세 유아의 발달에 적합한 독서교육의 필요성을 제기하며, 교육 현장의 교사들에게 유아 독서교육의 중요성과 활성화 방안을 제시하는데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to search for and implement activation plans for reading education in an independently organized all-day kindergarten class through action research and examine young children s and teachers reactions to it. The subjects included 24 young children aged three or four in an independently organized all-day kindergarten class at a kindergarten attached to a college in Seoul and four teachers including the investigator. Activities were carried out from December, 2016 to July, 2017, and the collected data was used to analyze the results. The findings were as follows: first, a reading education system was established based on a curriculum and was linked to the community to prepare and implement its activities for the activation of reading education in an independently organized all-day kindergarten class. Secondly, young children showed some reactions to the activation plan for reading education in an independently organized all-day kindergarten class, and their reactions included reading a book voluntarily, increasing their interactions and initiative with books, and expanding their interest and concern with various books. As for the teachers reactions, they increased in their professionalism about reading education for young children according to the accumulation of practical knowledge with the progress of the research and formed voluntary will to consistently implement reading education for young children. The present study raises a need for reading education that is fit for the development of three- and four-year-old children by taking into consideration the background and characteristics of an independently organized all-day kindergarten class and proposes the importance and activation plan of reading education for young children to teachers in the field of education; thus, claiming its significance.
