‘자기주도학습’의 의미에 관한 한 해석

국문 초록

이 연구는 오랜 기간 교육의 기본 원리였지만 ‘교수중심주의’에 의해 밀려났다가 최근 들어 다시금 주목 받고 있는 ‘자기주도학습’의 의미를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 성인교육 분야에서 이루어지는 자기주도학습 사례를 비판적으로 검 토하고 해체하여 개념을 살펴보았고, 그 구조를 일상을 바라보는 기본 틀인 시간과 공간, 관계와 신체의 관점에서 분석하였다. 아울러 자기주도학습이 교육의 원리로서 갖는 두드러진 교육적 속성을 조용환(1997; 2011)이 밝힌 교육의 이념형과의 대비 속 에서 탐색하였으며, 앞의 세 가지 작업을 통해 자기주도학습의 실존적 의미를 해석 하였다. 본문에서 밝힌 대로 자기교육과 자기주도학습이 동일한 삶의 모습을 지칭하는 말 이라면, Gadamer의 말대로 모든 교육은 곧 ‘자기교육’일는지도, ‘자기주도학습’이어 야 할는지도 모른다. 습득한 지식을 이해하고, 자신의 삶에 통합시키는 것은 오직 학 습자 자신의 의도일 것이기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This study is to investigate the meaning of Self-Directed Learning which fell behind with ‘Teaching-oriented principle’ although it has been a basic principle of education for a long time but is getting attention again. For this, cases of Self-Directed Learning which is carried out in adult education areas were reviewed critically, were understood of meanings by deconstruction and analyzed in respects of time and space or a basic frame of viewing the structure, relation and human body. Besides, outstanding educational properties which Self-Directed Learning has as a principle of education were explored in contrast with ideal types of education which Cho(1997; 2011) revealed and the existential meaning of Self-Directed Learning was interpreted through 3 kinds of works. As is discussed in the text, if the word self education has a same meaning with ‘Self-Directed Learning’, all education may be elf education or should be Self-Directed Learning as is said by Gadamer. That is why it may be only the intention of a learner to understand knowledge acquired and integrate it into one’s own life.
