This study was conducted to find the proper condition for plant regeneration in peppermint and to know whether oil and its composition will be the same or not in the regenerated plants compared with the original plant The results indicated that embryogeneic callus was obtained only from leaf-derived callus. Stem originated callus was turned out as non-embryogeneic callus. Plantlet was regenerated on MS media supplemented with combination of NAA l㎎/ℓ and BA 4㎎/ℓ, or NAA 2㎎/ℓ and BA 15㎎/ℓ. The regenerated plants from the former medium grew more normally after transplanted on pots than those from the latter medium. Oil content was not different between the original plants and the regenerated ones, but menthol and menthone contents were tended to be lower in the regenerated plants.
