국문 초록

초고층 건축물 건설은 지난 20여 년간 급격히 증가하고 있으며, 특히 우리나라와 중국, 아랍에미리트 등 아시아 지역에 집중되고 있다. 초고층 건축물에 대한 이러한 수요 증가로 인해 구조 및 지반공학분야 엔지니어에게는 새로운 도전과제가 주어지고 있으며, 건축물 기초분야에서도 보다 정교한 방식으로 수직하중에 대한 지지력과 침하, 풍하중과 지진하중 등에 의한 동적 거동, 적정 안전율 등을 고려한 분석과 설계가 수행되도록 요구받고 있다. 본 사례연구에서는 기초 설계에 영향을 미치는 초고층 건축물의 특성과 이에 근거한 일반적인 설계 절차를 소개하고, 층수 기준 국내 상위 21개 초고층 건축물의 기초 설계자료를 조사하였다. 국외 사례는 말뚝지지 전면기초가 적용된 대표적 초고층 건축물을 살펴보았다. 본 사례연구가 국내외 초고층 건축물 기초에 대한 현황 정보를 제공하는 한편, 개념설계를 위한 초기모델이나 지진 등 재난 시나리오 검토 등을 위한 대표모델을 구성하는 단계에서 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Construction of super high-rise buildings has increased rapidly over the past 20 years, especially being concentrated in Asia such as China, UAE, and South Korea. These growing demands for super high-rise buildings are presenting new challenges to structural and geotechnical engineers, and foundation designers are required to use more-sophisticated analysis and design methods considering bearing capacity and settlement of foundations, wind- and seismically-induced loads, appropriate safety factors, and so on. This case study introduces characteristics of very tall buildings affecting foundation design and outlines a typical design procedure. Foundation types of top 21 high-rise buildings in South Korea are listed, and piled-raft foundations of three world-renowned buildings are presented. It is anticipated that this case study will provide design information on the domestic super high-rise building foundations and be used as the reference materials for designing an initial concept model or a numerical simulation model.
