대학생 토익 향상그룹과 하락그룹에 따라 나타나는 학습전략 양상 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 토익점수가 향상된 대학생과 하락한 대학생들에서 나타나는 학습전략의 양상을 비교하여 탐색하는 것이다. 학습전략에 대한 설문지 조사를 실시하고 모의토익 2회 결과를 비교하여 학생들을 토익점수 향상그룹과 하락그룹으로 나누었다. 독립 t-검정을 통해, 독립변인으로 설정된 향상그룹과 하락그룹에 따라, 종속변인인 학습전략에서 나타나는 차이를 비교하였다. 그리고 문항분석을 통해 향상 그룹과 하락그룹의 전략 양상을 비교하였다. 연구 결과 토익 향상그룹과 하락그룹은 여섯 개 하위 학습전략인 기억전략, 인지 전략, 보상전략, 상위인지전략, 정의적 전략, 사회적 전략 가운데 사회적 전략을 제외 하한 모든 전략에서 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 또한 향상그룹은 하락그룹보다 여섯 개 하위 학습전략에서 모두 높은 점수를 보였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify some aspects of learning strategies in the university students with different academic performances in the TOEIC tests. The collected data are the results of the two TOEIC tests the 166 students have taken and the questionnaires on learning strategies from them. The independent variables have two factors. One factor is the students whose TOEIC scores have risen in the second test. The other is the students whose TOEIC scores have dropped. The dependent variable is the learning strategies the students used. The essential data were analyzed by way of the independent two samples test to make a comparison of the learning strategies between the improved grades of one group and the decreased grades of the other group. The results show that the improved grades are an effect of higher learning strategies on the part of the students. All sub-categories among the six sub-categories of the learning strategy except the social strategy show that the two groups have statistically meaningful differences. This study recommends that the features of the grades rising group be referred to as elements in teaching TOEIC courses in universities and can prove to be helpful for TOEIC teachers and students who want to get higher TOEIC scores.
