자연 친화형 여가 활동의 교육적 의미 탐색

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등 체육교육과정의 5～6학년군 여가 활동에 신체활동예시로 제시된 야영을 계획하고 실천하면서 학생들이 경험한 교육적 의미를 알아보는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 텐트초등학교(가명)의 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 2015년 6월 4일(목)부터 5일(금)까지 교육청에서 운영하는 수련원에서 야영을 하였다. 자료 수집을 위해서 야영을 준비하고 실시하는 기간 동안 학생들의 모습을 직접 참여관찰하였으며, 개방형 질문지와 야영 관련 문서를 수집하였다. 개방형 질문지를 성실하게 작성한 10명(남:5, 여:5)을 연구참여자로 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 NVivo 10.0 프로그램을 사용하여 귀납적인 과정으로 분석되었다. 연구 결과, ‘야영, 무엇이 다른가?’, ‘이런 야영이 좋다’, ‘인성교육을 위한 울타리 없는 교실’의 3가지 주제로 나타났다. ‘야영, 무엇이 다른가’는 학교 울타리 안에서의 수업과 야영과의 다른 점에 관한 것으로 ‘배우는 것’과, ‘불편한 주위환경’을 들 수 있었다. ‘이런 야영이 좋다’는 자연 속에서의 야영이 좋은 이유에 관한 것으로, ‘친구와 함께’, ‘100% 체험’으로 주제를 묶을 수 있었다. ‘인성교육을 위한 울타리 없는 교실’은 야영으로 학생들이 배울 수 있었던 인성적 요소에 관한 것으로 ‘배려하여 하나됨’, ‘역할찾아 하나됨’로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 교실 교육과 차별된 야영의 교육적 의미를 찾아볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate educational meaning of the proposed camping in the curriculum. For this purpose, 6th grade students of T elementary school camped in the training center from June 04 2015 to June 05 2015. For the data collection, the researchers collected data through a direct participant observation, open questionnaire and documents. Participants consisted of ten students (5 male, 5 female), who performed well in the open questionnaire. In-depth interviews were conducted with them. The collected data were analyzed by a process of transcription, coding, and theme formation with NVivo 10.0 program. Results indicated three themes including Camping, what is different? , This camp is good. , No fence classroom for character education . Camping, what is different? relates to the differences between the classroom and camping. That was divided into educational contents , ‘uncomfortable the environment . ‘This camp is good’ relates to the good reason of camping. That included ‘with friends , 100% experience’. No fence classroom for character education relates to character education that students could learn in camping and divided into ‘become one with consideration’ and ‘become one with finding roles’. Based on these findings, differentiated camping was preferred compared with classroom education. Hence, it is hoped that nature-friendly activity programs which involve a variety of experiences will become available to students in the future.
