영문 초록

Before a long time the Hallyu boom was formed, awareness of Korea in Turkey is relatively high, and Turkey is a country that has a great deal of affection to and friendly interest in Koreans. In fact, recently in Turkey the Hallyu is gradually spreading interest and affection for Korea and Korean people. Generally, articles and news do not deliver as it is. The mass media select articles and news that fit to its personality and frame. It has a great influence on the general perceptions and attitudes of Turkish people about Korea and Koreans. This paper examines the topics and contents of articles and news, comments, attitudes and methods of description on the Hallyu in Turkish newspapers, and also investigated underlying features and their implications. As a result, it points out the characteristics of Hallyu and its problems and furthermore, it can provide balanced perspective to seek positive direction of Korea wave in Turkey. This study aims to understand more comprehensively and concretely the attitudes and thoughts of Turkish people about Korea (Hallyu). This paper suggests meaningful points to seek effective ways, which enhance the relationship and cultural exchanges between two countries.
