초·중학교의 지필평가 개선방안 연구

국문 초록

혁신학교, 자유학기제 등 교육개혁 정책의 도입으로 초 중학교에서의 평가 변화가 일어나고 있지만, 여전히 선택형 및 단답형 중심의 지필평가의 비중이 크다. 본 연구는 수업과 평가의 일체화를 추구하는 관점에서 서술형 논술형 평가로의 지필평가 개선에 주목하였다. 연구자는 초 중학교에서 서술형 논술형 평가를 시행하고 있는 교사들을 대상으로 심층면담을 하고, 이를 질적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 서술형 논술형 지필평가의 촉진 요인은 ‘교사의 의지에서 이어지는 자발적 실천’, ‘교사의 자율성 확대 및 권한의 회복’, ‘신뢰 중심의 학교문화와 긴밀한 협의구조’, ‘평가 변화의 성과를 체험하기’로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로, 교육관계자들이 지필평가 개선의 필요성과 방향성을 분명히 공유해야 한다는 점, 교원의 평가권을 강화하고 이를 지원해야 한다는 점, 학생의 성장을 위한 피드백이 있는 서술형 논술형 평가를 지향해야 한다는 점을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Paper-and-pencil evaluation still plays significant role in elementary school and middle school though the evaluation system has changed by initiating education reform policies such as innovation school and free semester program. This research focuses on improving paper-and-pencil evaluation toward descriptive and essay-type test in terms of integrations between instruction and evaluation. In this article we conducted in-depth interview with teachers implementing descriptive and essay evaluation in elementary and middle school, then analyzed data by employing qualitative methods. The result shows ‘voluntary action from teachers’ own will’, ‘enlargement of self-efficacy and restoration of authority’, ‘trust-centered school and structure of close discussion’ and ‘experience of result of evaluation change’ in paper-pencil evaluation. Drawing on the results, this research shows that education authorities should clearly share the necessity of improvement on paper-and pencil evaluation, strengthen and support teachers rights to evaluation and focus on descriptive and essay evaluation with feedback for student s growth .
