국문 초록

본 연구는 글로벌시민 차원에 초점을 맞춘 인성교육 프로그램이 고등학생의 인성 수준에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 2016년 4~6월, 서울소재 5개 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 총 10회 인성교육 프로그램을 진행하였다. 프로그램의 효과를 알아보기 위해 사전-사후 비교집단설계를 하였으며 프로그램 참여집단 116명, 비 참여집단 163명을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 프로그램에 참여하지 않은 학생들의 경우 인지 측면에서만 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으나, 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 경우 인지, 정의, 행동 모든 측면에서 인성수준이 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 본 인성교육 프로그램이 고등학생들의 인지, 정의, 행동 모든 인성 영역에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 글로벌시민 차원에 초점을 둔 인성교육 프로그램이 고등학생들의 인성수준 향상에 효과가 있음을 객관적으로 확인하였으며, 이로 인해 인성교육이 개인적인 차원 뿐 아니라 사회적인 차원과 세계적인 차원까지 다양한 차원을 아우르는 개념임을 상기시켰다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a character education program focusing on global citizenship for high school students. The program was developed and implemented for the students from five high schools located in Seoul. The students participated in the program composed of 10 sessions from A pril to June 2016. A pretest and a posttest were administered to investigate the effectiveness of the program to both an experimental group and a comparative group of students. Data were collected from both groups and data from 116 students of the experimental group and 163 students of the comparative group were analyzed. The results sho wed that the experimental group of students sho wed statistically significant improvement in cognitive, affective and behavioral aspects of character while the comparative group of students did improve only in cognitive aspect of character, but neither in affective nor in behavioral aspects. This study sho wed that the character education program focused on the global citizenship was effective for high school students to improve their character levels. It also implied that the character education is a concept including the various dimensions from personal level to social and global level.
