사회문제 인식 함양을 위한 대학교양 미술교육 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학교양 미술교육에서 미술의 사회적 기능에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 사회문제 인식 함양을 위한 교수-학습 전략에 따른 수업 사례이다. 현재 대학교양 미술교육에서 지양하는 지식전달식 이해교육에서 벗어나, 학습자중심의 교육 방안 모색을 목표로 한다. 연구대상은 서울 소재 S 대학의 2016년 2학기에 개설된 대학교 양 《현대미술의 이해》교과를 대상으로 하였다. 교수 학습전략은 ‘문제 중심 학습 모형(Problem-Based Learning)’을 활용하여 학습자 스스로 관심을 가진 사회문제에 대해 논의과정을 거치고 합리적 해결 방안을 모색한 후, 자신들이 전하고자 하는 사회적 메시지를 창의적으로 표현하게 하였다. 분석 자료는 학습자가 제출한 과제물과 활동지의 내용 및 최종 작품으로 삼았으며, 연구자 2인이 이에 대해 숙독하며 합의 된 기준에 따라 분류하였고, 그 내용을 질적 연구의 경험이 있는 교육학 박사 및 연 구자 2인의 검토를 받아 분석의 신뢰도를 확보하였다. 분석 결과, 학습자들은 미술이 지닌 사회적 기능에 대한 인식뿐만 아니라 사회문제를 다방면으로 모색하고 제고한 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 공동체 구성원으로서의 역할 및 문제 해결을 위한 융복합적 사고와 창의적 표현 능력 등이 함양되었으며, 향후 사회문제 개선을 위한 적극적 참여의사를 밝히고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study is a case study on teaching and learning strategies for cultivating awareness of social problems based on the recognition of social functions in college liberal art education. This study aims to find a way to practice learner-centered education instead of delivering knowledge in liberal education. This study analyzes the art class Understanding of Contemporary Art , which was opened in the second semester of 2016 at S University in Seoul. Teaching and learning strategies are based on Problem-Based Learning . Students are interested in social issues themselves and seek rational solutions through discussion process step by step. Then, students are asked to express their own social message creatively. The content of the assignments and activities which were submitted by students were analyzed. Verification of the case study s reliability was secured by the review of doctor of pedagogy and researcher who had experience in qualitative research. As a result of the analysis, it was found that students raised not only their recognition of social functions of art but also their awareness of social problems. In addition, the role of community members as well as the ability to express creative thinking in order to solve social problems was developed. Also, it was confirmed that they intend to participate actively to improve social problems in the future.
