자연과학계열 대학생의 현장실습교육에 따른 진로동기 및 전공만족도 변화 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 대학에서 확대되고 있는 현장실습교육이 자연과학계열 대학생들의 진로동기와 전공만족도 향상에 유의한지 검증하고자 수행되었다. 현장실습교육은 자신의 흥미와 적성을 가늠해보는 기회로 개인의 진로 관련 행동과 태도를 확립하는 진로동기 향상에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대하였고, 또한 학교에서 배운 지식을 실제 적용해봄으로써 전공에 대한 만족도가 향상될 것으로 예측하고 가설을 수립하였다. 자연과학계열 대학생 178명으로부터 현장실습교육이 실시되기 이전, 2015년 6월에 진로동기의 하위요인인 진로탄력성, 진로통찰력, 진로정체성과 전공만족도를 1차 측정하고, 현장실습교육이 진행된 이후 11월에 연구변인을 2차로 측정하였다. 현장실습교육 참여는 학생 선택에 의해 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료 중 현장실습교육 참여 유무에 따라 참여 집단과 미참여 집단으로 구분하고 연구변인의 사전-사후 측정값의 변화가 유의한지 검증하였다. 분석결과, 현장실습교육에 참여하지 않은 집단의 사전-사후 진로탄력성, 진로통찰력, 전공만족도에 유의한 변화가 없었으나, 현장실습교육에 참여한 집단에서 사전-사후에 측정한 진로탄력성, 진로통찰력, 진로정체성, 전공만족도는 유의하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 자연과학계열 대학생의 현장실습교육에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine changes in career motivation (career resilience, career insight, and career identity) and academic major satisfaction in students, specifically majoring in the natural sciences, after engaging in field experience. The sample comprised of 178 college students, and data was collected before and after field experience occurred. Because participation in field experience was voluntary, the collected data was categorized into two groups depending on the students’ participation status. The results showed that the group with field experience (n=70) had significantly higher mean values than those of the group without field experience (n=108) when comparing career resilience, career insight, career identity and academic major satisfaction. Furthermore, the results from the paired samples t-test indicated that the scores of individuals with field experience were significantly higher after participating in field experience. However, the scores of individuals who did not participate in field experience did not change career resilience, career insight, and academic major satisfaction except career identity. Based on the findings, the implications of encouraging and developing the field experience programs were discussed.
