영문 초록

To investigate the overall aspects of Korean adolescents’ quality of life, this paper focuses on the following: 1) the meaning of quality of life, 2) the level of quality of life among Korean adolescents, 3) the comparative results of adolescents’ quality of life internationally, and 4) the primary causes of adolescents’ quality of life. As a result, adolescents’ quality of life can be comprehended when their subjective satisfaction and objective indices are fully considered. Moreover, Korean adolescents’ satisfaction of life and mental health are relatively low. As can be observed in the adults’ quality of life, the degree of adolescents’ quality of life is also influenced by the differences among countries and cultures. Lastly, observing the influential causes of adolescents’ quality of life, adolescents are influenced not only by themselves, but also by their surrounding figures and the sociocultural factors in their life. These factors include sociodemographical factors personal psychological factors, family related matters, school related matters and sociocultural elements.
