영문 초록
The thermotropic aromatic polyesters which have an alternating sequence of mesogenic units and flexible spacers and their model compounds with two alkyl wings attached to the two terminal mesogenic units and central spacers were compared. The used low molecular weight model compounds were a,w-bis-[p-(4- alkoxyphenoxycarbonyl) phenoxy] alkanes. The liquid crystalline properties of the compounds were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and on the hot-stage of a polarizing microscope.
