영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate and to classify facial injury patients who visited the dental department via emergency room only. We observed clinically 161 patients with facial injuries who visited the dental department via emergency room only, Chung Nam National Hospital from May 1982 to April 1983. The results obtained were as follows. 1. In total 161 facial injury patients the most incidence of facial injuries was facial laceration (38%, 61 patients) and the next was facial bone fracture (33%, 54 patients) and teeth & supporting tissue injury (29%, 46 patients). 2. The ratio of male to female was about 4.4 : 1. 3. The highest age incidence was 2 decades age group (50%). 4. The most etiologic factor of facial injuries was traffic accidents (57%) and the next factor was fist blow (23%), falling down (18%) and sports (2%) in order. 5. The closed reduction was the first choice of treatment in mandibular fracture, especially in condylar fracture.
