영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to assess the reliability of foramina spinosa in diagnosis of craniofacial asymmetry. The study originated from the analysis of submental-vertex view which was standardized. Thirty-two subjects with normal occlusion and visually well facial symmetary were selected. The results were obtained as follows. 1. The paired structures show the symmetrical relationship to interspinosum axis. 2. The unpaired structures were located within 1 ㎜ to interspinosum axis. 3. The symmetry of paired structures and central location of unpaired structures prove the reliability of interspinosum axis as the midline of craniofacial complex.
