영문 초록

This Study is focused on a few proposal for developing and description of the history of classical literature in the Gangwha(江華) province. Though a lot of scholars have studied in detail about features of Gangwha literature, Gangwha s history of classical literature is not written with a broad perspective until now. It is necessary to understand, first of all, what local color is, and how to search for feature of Gangwha literature as a provincial literature, in order to study and descript the history of classical literature of the Gangwha province. Even though the place of writer s birth is not in Gangwha, if he compose the works dealing with the provincial material, naturally it has the local character. When we consider the stream of Gangwha classical literature within the limits of Korean literature, Gangwha s classical literature is characterized by strong perception of history and national homogeneity in a field of oral literature( eg. historical tales, legends) as well as written literature(eg. by Lee Gyu-Bo, Kwon-Pil, Jeong-Cheol, Ryu Hui-Gyong, Lee Geon-Chang etc.), because Gangwha was historic place where resisted against several attacks of foreign power. In addition to it, there are many works which was written in relation with history and nature of Gangwha by writers from another province. That s why we have to pay due regard to the matter of division of history into periods of Gangwha literature in these standpoint.
