영문 초록

The normal upper lid margin lies somewhere between the upper limbus and pupillary border in the upright position. When blepharoptosis (ptosis) occurs, the lid covers more of the cornea and there is a smoothing out of the lid fold. Because of the prominent position of the upper lid, this immediately becomes a noticeable cosmetic blemish. These ptosis may be divided into a large group of congenital ptoses and a smaller group of acquired ptoses. The author performed frontalis suspension technique by using homogenous fascia lata in a patient with acquired blepharoptosis. Because the result of our case was satisfactory, we consider that wide use of homogenous fascia lata for correction of other anomalies & deformities in our oral & maxillofacial surgery will obtain favorable results.
