영문 초록

The purpose of study was to clinically assess the 21 patients who underwent simultaneous mobilization of maxilla and mandible for the correction of dentofacial deformities during the past five years from 1990 to 1994. The most common deformity was the class III type(81%). The ratio of male to female was 1 : 2 and the mean age was 20.5 years. In maxilla, all of the cases underwent Le Fort I osteotomy, generally with segmentalization(66.7%). In mandible, 85.7% of cases underwent bilateral modified sagittal split ramus osteotomies. In other procedures, 52.4% of cases underwent autogenous iliac bone graft. The mean duration of the surgical procedures was 6.39 hours. The mean estimated blood loss was 1,385cc and these patients received a mean of 1.9 pints. The mean length of hospitalization was 11 days. Rigid fixation with miniplate or screw was increased after 1993 and total percent of rigid fixation was 47.6%.
