영문 초록

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are often confronted with the problem of removal of foreign bodies. Nonorganic foreign bodies (metal) are usually inert and may be left safely, but organic objects (pencil, thorn, clothing) cause chronic infection and must be removed. These cases are not shown chronic inflammatory reaction after the conservative and the surgical treatment. I experienced the cases caused by gunshot injury and treated by the conservative and the surgical treatment. The importance of radiographic examination is stressed and the most appropriate treatment to foreign bodies is discussed.
